PORTRAIT OF HUMANITY

BRITISH JOURNAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY AND MAGNUM PHOTOS

Portrait of Humanity, "a timely reminder that we are all united by our shared humanity. At its core, Portrait of Humanity is a celebration of our shared values: Individuality, Community and Unity."

The world's first exhibition in space:

October 2020, 1854 Media revealed a new film capturing an exhibition of 400 photographs ascending 130,000 feet into the stratosphere, broadcasting a message of peace and unity from humankind to space — and possibly even our extra-terrestrial counterparts.

Portrait of Humanity Vol 2 Book

‘Humanity is now standing at a crossroads. We must decide which path we want to take.’– Greta Thunberg

This collection of 200 intimate portraits and stories – shot by photographers all over the world – reminds us of our common struggles, our deep bonds and, perhaps most importantly in light of the global pandemic, the restorative power of community.

The Literary Passage

Pictured here in the secondhand bookshop Planeta ZOCAr, he looks like some kind of literary gatekeeper. The shop has more than 30,000 books from floor to ceiling. It is a place that believes in community art and supports local artists by giving them somewhere to collaborate and exhibit.
