THE META SCENE TO THE ANTHROPOCENE
The unusual geological period of COVID-19 where there was a reduction in global greenhouse gas emissions, but also a rapid increase in single-use plastics. It was also a significant anthropological period where digital interactions became the dominant mode of interaction. A period where there were discussions about the age of 'traversing the metaverse'. However, for many it was not about living in someone else's metaverse, but having more control over the way they live in the real-world.
The true anthropocene is not geographical but digital
and the waste, destruction and extinctions
were just proof we existed through it all.
